Our Cub scout pack has been to Hoover for several years running now. Primarily, we have chosen it for the indoor pool (get to swim regardless of weather) as well as the fact that Cub Scouts can stay for 5 days. Their programming has been basically solid (some years better than other as directors change), although it doesn't change much year to year. By Webelos II, kids start to find it rather stale, but the younger kids and less jaded kids enjoy it. They offer BBs, archery and a Webelos overnight. They have a dining hall, so the packs don't have to cook at the site (although we have always done Dutch Oven cooking in the evenings. The ownership has changed, so now it is year to year as to whether the camp will continue to operate.
