Another local place that my troop goes to sometimes is Von Oven in Naperville. It is a good one for going closeby for short trips. Lots of trees, and some little hiking trails. Its good for frisbee golf and stuff like that, and we go there for the new kids to learn camping stuff before we go anywhere far away.

A place for Scout camping, meetings and events right in Naperville.  Run by the Von Oven organization with a mission to keep it up and make it available for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
