This is a Blackhawk Council campground in Oregon, IL. It is directly adjacent toLowden-Miller State Forest (
http://dnr.state.il.us/lands/Landmgt/PARKS/R1/LOWDENMI.HTM#Facilities), and has hiking trails connecting directly into the forest. They have cabin camping in the winter (which is when our troop went, Nov 2006). They turn off the water in the cabins for winterizing, but there are well pumps throughout the grounds. The camp is by the Rock river, and is hilly and forested throughout, for a really nice looking place. Another troop from Byron, IL was there when we were there, and said that they run the place as a good summer camp as well. We have not been there as a summer camp. Their website is
